For all you young souls out there
Who have chosen life with us;
We hope that your life lessons learnt
Will be great with a minimum of fuss.

Some of the lessons are quite hard
Others altogether easy;
The thing to know is that they never end
They're not usually very breezy.

Us moms and dads we try our best
But we are under so much pressure;
As we love you to the ends of the earth
You are our only pleasure.

So bear with us as we learn from you
Some times the right from wrong;
It all goes in the blinking of an eye
We find we're singing a different song.

Celebrate today though you give us so much joy
Let's party, party throughout the day;
With kindness, thought and very great care
We'll enjoy our lives -what do you say?

Children learn many things
Usually at quite high speed;
As we all know later on
To repeat the very deed.

Every action and reaction
Is monitored by them;
So good or bad is down to us
A rolling stone or a gem!

Big business has a lot to answer for
And that Health & Safety too;
Right or wrong let's change the rules
Business is business no matter what you do.

You can't say one thing and then do another;
Just because you can;
How is that child going to discern how
To be a good woman or a man!

New laws and regulations won't help
It's a changing world but not for the better;
Morals and principles have been sacrificed
And now we have to live to the letter.

Smiling is infectious
You catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.

I passed around the corner,
And someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realized.
I’d passed it on to him!

That's the stuff we need to teach the kids
Laugh and the world laughs with you;
Every action has reaction so think before you do
Something to be paid for with a price to high for you.

My Children

My children are very smart,
Both of them have a great big heart.
They both are growing up each and every day,
In their own unique and special way.
Both of my children are filled with joy,
I love them dearly both my girl and boy.
When I am sad and have a bad day,
Both of my children know how to make my hurt go away.
I love my children more than words could ever say,
I am very grateful that they are alive each and every day.
They mean more to me than anyone will ever know,
When the children are not around me the days seem to go by so slow.
Everyday brings a brand new start,
After all my children are my heart.
I thank God each and every day,
That he sent two beautiful angels my way.

On Childrens Day there are those of us
Who feel the need to discuss the planet;
We thought we'd do a better job
Than those who were our adults.

It is a big job and we need to pull together
Because as history shows we've grabbed it all;
We must share and care to help all those who suffer
It's the only way in LOVE and it is OUR only call.

So Children can you see the way
With your new hearts and minds;
New technology to do great things
Justice and wisdom at last to find?
