Failure is only postponed success as long as courage "coaches" ambition. The habit of persistence is the habit of victory.
Herbert Kaufman

--

What you thought before has led to every choice you have made, and this adds up to you at this moment. If you want to change who you are physically, mentally, and spiritually, you will have to change what you think.
Dr. Patrick Gentempo

--

On that thought it's making the time - not finding it - MAKING IT- to be able to sort out your thoughts because all choices all decisions have consequences.

You Can Win Life
By All Means
If You Simply Avoid
Two Things
“Comparing”
&
“Expectation”

Life is like a flowing river of opportunities..
It’s up to you to stand up with a bucket or with a spoon.

--

May you
Always have love to share,
Health to spare,
And friends that care.

The fishermen know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible, but they have never found these dangers sufficient reasons for remaining ashore.
Vincent Van Gogh

--

Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear. Perhaps the action you take will be successful; perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow. But any action is better than no action at all.
Norman Vincent Peale

The most precious possession that ever comes to a man in this world is a woman's heart.
Josiah G. Holland

Whenever the day is getting you down
And all you can do is wear a frown;
Remember tomorrow is another day
Think good thoughts and things will go your way.

--

Do it now!
Think about how good you will feel when it's finished
the reward of a thing well done - is to have it done!

--

I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.
Martha Washington

--

Work Hard--Do your best--Keep your word--Never get too big for your britches--Trust in God--Have no fear--and Never forget a friend.
Harry S. Truman

Love makes the world go round
Is how the saying goes;
So fill your cup with love
Your future will hold? - Who Knows!

--

Don't just make yourself look good on the outside
As God sees into your heart;
We need his point of view on things
Our time's so precious for a start.

Into this life of ours
We are quite suddenly thrust;
From the safety and peace of the womb
Into a noisy marvellous world we must.

An adventure from the beginning
With so much to explore;
Lots to learn and play with
A Mom and Dad to adore.

All our senses rushing in
The noises and the smells;
The tastes and feel of things
Sometimes pain as well.

As we look through our eyes
To gradually see all the wonders;
To feel the love coming toward
To support us through our blunders.

Making a Difference..a humorous poem with a poignant point

A million starfish
By the tide were landed
When the sun arose, they would die,
On the beach, stranded

A boy said he must help
I said you can't make a difference,
Hardly any
It's a waste of time
there are just too many.
He picked one up and threw it into the sea
In an instant, it was gone
Well, he said
I think I've made a big difference..
to that one.
He picked up another
little one
and threw it in the sea
And I think I've made a difference to that one.

With due deference
I joined him,
Making a difference
It's just possible that one of those rescued starfish,
This is my heartfelt wish,
went on to become the
President of the United States of American Starfish
Jon Bratton 2008

Poems about Life
**

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me , is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.

It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. it will make or break a company..a church...a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude that we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past.. we cannot change the the fact that certain people will act in a certain way.We cannot change the inevitable.

The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I ma convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you..we are in charge of our
Attitudes.

All above is easier said than done
I should know that better than anyone;
I try and I strive to achieve so much
But I don't have that midas touch.

 Having said that I'm not out yet
I'll feel better tomorrow on that I'll bet;
I'll pick myself up and I'll have a moan
No one will listen whilst I groan.

 Then deep inside my spirit will stir
They'll not beat me down - no sir!
The only thing that they cannot have
My pride, my dignity a new road I'll pave.

Life is a gift, accept it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is a mystery, unfold it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a struggle, face it.
Life is beauty, praise it.
Life is a puzzle, solve it.
Life is opportunity, take it.
Life is sorrowful, experience it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a goal, achieve it.
Life is a mission, fulfill it.

Poems about Life
**

Falling in love is scary
Impossible to refuse;
Your heart just jumps about
Whether you win or lose.

Our souls know where we're going
We all have lessons to learn;
There are many things in this life
Most of which we have to earn.

But love shines through everything
From siblings and our friends;
Our parents and our families
Are all that matters in the end

Have you heard of the magic keys
Called integrity and truth;
These make everything alright
Learn them in your youth.

You will go far with these I know
For everyone will trust you;
People like to know just where they stand
Confidant and true.

An athlete or explorer
Doctors and scientists too;
It doesn't matter where you start
You can be anything too.

Taste every taste there is
Look at every scene;
Open your heart and your mind
Things are never what they seem.

No matter where or who we are
We only eat and sleep;
There are other moments to enjoy
As into life we leap.
